Blockbuster Deal: Rapids Trade for Elite Scorer Kevin Domingue
The Paugan Falls Rapids have made a blockbuster move to strengthen their offense heading into the 2025–26 season, acquiring right winger Kevin Domingue from the Gananoque Islanders in exchange for Dakota Ostrowski, Pineshish Whiteduck, Kodiak Whiteduck, and cash considerations.
Domingue, a dynamic and highly respected offensive force, is widely considered one of the top right wingers in the league. He’s expected to make an immediate impact in the Rapids lineup with his quick release, veteran experience, and nose for the net.
In just 8 games with Gananoque last season, Domingue tallied an incredible 24 points, showcasing his elite scoring ability. He also holds the all-time goals and points record at Ottawa University, amassing 127 points in 112 games, and is a veteran of over 75 QMJHL games, plus over 135 games at the collegiate level.
Standing at 6’1” and 190 lbs, Domingue shoots right and brings a powerful combination of size, skill, and veteran savvy to Paugan Falls. His résumé includes stops in pro leagues in Romania, the EIHL (UK), and the LNAH, and he’s no stranger to performing in big moments.
"Kevin is one of the top right wingers in the league," said GM Randy Peck.
"He's been a scorer everywhere he's played and has an ability to score in big games, at big moments."
For Domingue, the move to Paugan Falls is a bit of a homecoming.
"I'm pretty happy to be back in the area," said Domingue.
"I played Midget AAA with the Intrepid in Gatineau when I was growing up so it's nice to be playing back in the area again."
Going the other way are Dakota Ostrowski, Pineshish Whiteduck, and Kodiak Whiteduck—three players who played important roles during the Rapids’ first two seasons. The organization thanks them for their contributions and wishes them the very best in their future endeavors.
Domingue becomes the third all-star player acquired by the Rapids this off-season—and perhaps the most impactful. With the addition of his scoring touch, the Rapids continue to push forward in their mission to build a championship caliber team in Low.
Stay tuned—this season is shaping up to be something special.
