Friday Night Lights: Rapids Set to Honor Military Heroes in Clash with Royals

The Paugan Falls Rapids are ramping up for a high-stakes encounter on home ice this Friday, November 10th at 7:00 PM, where they will face the red-hot Bytown Royals, currently holding a striking 7-1 record for the season. This game is not just a regular matchup; it's a special tribute to those who have served, as the Rapids host a Military Appreciation night to honor veterans, who will enjoy free admission as a token of gratitude for their service.

An evening of patriotism and hockey awaits at the Gatineau Valley Arena, where Jan McCambley is set to deliver a stirring rendition of the national anthem. Young flag bearers Sam and Greyson from Chelsea Elementary School will proudly carry the flags, setting the stage for what promises to be an electric game.

Fans can also participate in the excitement with a chance to win big in the 50/50 draw, which has seen winners walk away with over $1000 at the last two games. Moreover, attendees can unleash their aim with the chuck-a-puck event, adding to the night's thrills.

The Rapids' roster will be on high alert, facing off against top league scorers like Jacob Trempe, with 21 points in 7 games, and Joey Brennan, who has tallied 11 points in just 5 games. It's a game where the Rapids' defense will be put to the test, and strategies will be deployed to quell the offensive threats posed by the Royals.

While new strategies are under wraps, the Rapids are focused on igniting their offense and minimizing penalties after critical self-assessment following their recent road stint.

Tickets are available at the door, cash only. In a family-friendly gesture, children 12 and under get in free, and adults are just $10. In a salute to service, all veterans or current members of the armed forces are invited to join the Rapids family for the evening free of charge.

Friday's game against Bytown is sponsored by West Quebec Growers, Construction Ron Dubeau and Kelly's Auto Parts.

The Rapids are poised to turn the tide following their recent road trip outcomes. Coaches have been fine-tuning the playbook to sharpen the team's offensive edge and ensure a disciplined game is played. On November 10th, fans can expect a team reinvigorated and ready to defend their home turf with fervor and strategic prowess.

Join us as the Rapids strive for victory and pay homage to our nation's heroes in a night that promises to be filled with action, honor, and community spirit. Let's fill the stands and make some noise for our Rapids!
