Paugan Falls Rapids Add Veteran Goaltender Josh Horner to Roster

The Paugan Falls Rapids are excited to announce the signing of Josh Horner, a seasoned goaltender from Shawville, Quebec, who brings a wealth of experience and a commanding presence to our team. Standing at an imposing 6'5" and weighing in at 225 lbs, Horner is set to add depth and veteran leadership to our goaltending lineup.

Horner’s hockey journey includes two seasons in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), where he guarded the net for the Mattawa Blackhawks and the Iroquois Falls Eskimos. Known for his size and mobility, Josh is a formidable force in the crease, and his experience at the junior level has equipped him with the skills necessary to make crucial saves and maintain a strong presence in net.

At 29 years old, Josh brings a veteran presence that will complement our two young and talented goaltenders, Aidan Foley and Malcolm Patry. While Aidan and Malcolm shared the net last season with great success, Josh’s addition to the roster provides the team with additional depth, ensuring that the Rapids are well-prepared in case of unavailability or injuries.

Head Coach Randy Peck is thrilled to have Horner on board, citing the added depth and experience as key factors in the team’s decision to bring him in. "Josh is a big, mobile goaltender with the kind of veteran presence that can really help solidify our goaltending group," said Peck. "His experience and leadership will be invaluable, especially as we aim to build on the success of last season."

With Horner joining the fold, the Paugan Falls Rapids are confident in their goaltending depth as they prepare for the upcoming season. Fans can look forward to seeing Josh in action, bringing his impressive skill set and veteran savvy to the ice.

Stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for another exciting season of Rapids hockey!
