Rapids 2025–26 Season Schedule Released: Rivalries, New Teams & Can’t-Miss Games

The wait is over, Rapids Nation — the 2025–26 Paugan Falls Rapids season schedule is officially here! With 10 home games and 10 away games lined up, this season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.

The Home Opener: October 11 vs. Shawville Pontiacs

Circle your calendars for Saturday, October 11th, when the Rapids open the season at the Gatineau Valley Arena against the Shawville Pontiacs. Formerly the Pontiac Comets, the franchise has relocated to Shawville, and the rivalry is already heating up. Expect fireworks when these two teams hit the ice.

And that’s not all — the home opener will be packed with excitement both on and off the ice, with special guests, a live anthem performance, brand-new Rapids merchandise, and more surprises to be announced in the coming weeks. You won’t want to miss it.

New Faces, New Challenges

Fans will see plenty of fresh competition at home this year:

  • Madawaska Valley Wolves – moving to the East Division after two seasons in the West.

  • Akwesasne Wild – a brand-new team replacing the Glengarry Pipers, already touted as a tough opponent.

  • Shawville Pontiacs – the start of what’s expected to be one of our fiercest rivalries.

Three brand-new opponents, three chances to make Rapids history.

Holiday Classic Tradition

One of the biggest dates of the season comes on Saturday, December 27th, when the Rapids host the Akwesasne Wild in our third annual Holiday Classic. This game has smashed attendance records two years in a row, and it’s become the can’t-miss event of the holiday season in the Gatineau Valley.

Friday Night Hockey & Deer Season

Another date to watch is Friday, November 7th, when the Rapids host the Arnprior Rivermen. It’s the first weekend of deer season — the perfect chance for our hunting fans to stop by the rink on their way up to camp. A Friday night rivalry game under the lights, and a great way to kick off a hunting weekend.

How the Schedule Works

For the superfans who want the full breakdown: the East Division’s nine teams have been divided into three pods of three. Each team plays the two opponents in their pod four times (two home, two away), and faces every other East Division team once at home and once on the road.

Here’s how the pods look this season:

  • Pod 1: Paugan Falls Rapids, South Grenville Rangers, Manotick Mariners

  • Pod 2: Shawville Pontiacs, Arnprior Rivermen, Madawaska Valley Wolves

  • Pod 3: North Dundas Rockets, South Stormont Mustangs, Akwesasne Wild
