Rapids Announce Country-Themed Game Ahead of Nov 7 Matchup with Rivermen
Saddle up, Rapids fans — it’s time to break out the plaid, boots, and cowboy hats. On Friday, November 7th, the Paugan Falls Rapids are hosting a Country Night at the Gatineau Valley Arena when they take on long-time rivals, the Arnprior Rivermen. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM, with warm-up beginning at 7:00 PM.
This special theme night lands on the eve of deer season, making it the perfect stop for hunters heading to camp for the weekend. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their best country or camo gear — whether that’s cowboy boots, big belts, plaid shirts, or hunting jackets.
A Country Twist on Rapids Hockey
Throughout the night, the arena will be filled with country music, creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that blends the excitement of Rapids hockey with the spirit of the Gatineau Valley. Fans can expect plenty of toe-tapping tunes, cold drinks, and a great night of hard-hitting hockey.
The game will be sponsored by Beausoleil Home Hardware, Bellai Alliance and Century 21 CrossSmith Team, with the national anthem performed by Howard Hayes, a local favorite whose deep country voice sets the perfect tone for the evening.
A Rivalry That Runs Deep
The Rapids and Rivermen have built one of the fiercest rivalries in the league. Over the past two seasons, the two clubs have gone back and forth, splitting wins in a series of tightly contested matchups. With another heated battle expected, there’s no better night for fans to pack the rink, turn up the volume, and make some noise.
The Usual Excitement — Country Style
Fans can enjoy all the classic Rapids game night traditions including the 50/50 draw, Chuck-a-Puck, and a visit from Ronnie Rapid. The canteen at Wendy’s Place will be serving up all the favorites, and the energy inside the Gatineau Valley Arena promises to be electric from start to finish.
Tickets are $10 at the door and FREE for kids 12 & under. Tickets can also be purchased online through Frontdoor+.
So dust off your boots, grab your hat, and head to the rink for a night of hockey, music, and country pride. This is one you won’t want to miss.
