Rapids Bolster Roster with Blockbuster Trades for 2025-26 Season
The Paugan Falls Rapids are kicking off the 2025-26 off-season with a bang, announcing two major trades on the first day after the NPHL roster freeze lifted. These bold moves signal a pivotal period for the team, as we aim to strengthen our lineup and bring electrifying hockey to the Gatineau Valley Arena. Leading the charge is the acquisition of All-Star forward Keon Troccoli-Roik, joined by a trade sending two players’ rights to the Akwesasne Wild.
Keon Troccoli-Roik Joins the Rapids
The Rapids are thrilled to welcome Keon Troccoli-Roik, a 6’1”, 195-lb forward from the Tweed Oil Kings, acquired for cash considerations. Keon’s combination of size, strength, and offensive prowess makes him a game-changer. Last season, he led the Oil Kings with 14 goals and 20 assists in 20 games, averaging an impressive 1.7 points per game. With 62 points in 39 career NPHL games, his consistent scoring is set to significantly boost the Rapids’ offence.
Keon’s 200-foot game and offensive spark will be a crucial part of the team in the upcoming season. General Manager Randy Peck shared his excitement:
“I think he's going to be a great player for us. He's a proven senior caliber player who plays a solid 200 foot game and who has had consistent offensive production ever since he joined the league. We're thrilled to have him joining the Rapids family.”
Newhook and Vezina Traded to Akwesasne Wild
In a separate move, the Rapids have traded the rights of Chris Newhook and Thomas Vezina to the Akwesasne Wild for cash considerations. Both players’ rights were acquired last season in a trade that sent Tim Cousineau to Manotick. We extend our best wishes to Chris and Thomas in their future endeavours.
A Bold Statement for the Off-Season
Executed on the first day after the roster freeze lifted, these trades are a clear statement of intent for the Paugan Falls Rapids. They mark the beginning of a pivotal off-season focused on strengthening the roster for a thrilling 2025-26 campaign. Keon’s arrival, in particular, sets the stage for an exciting season for the Rapids.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to prepare for the 2025-26 season and join us in welcoming Keon Troccoli-Roik to the Rapids family!
