Rapids Fall Short Despite Strong Effort Against North Dundas

In front of a lively crowd of 402 fans, the Paugan Falls Rapids put up a valiant fight but ultimately fell 5-0 to the North Dundas Rockets.

Game Summary
The Rapids held the Rockets to a tight 1-0 lead after the first period, with a lone deflection goal giving North Dundas the early edge. The second period saw the Rockets double their lead, making it 2-0 heading into the third. Although the Rapids were in striking distance for much of the game, the Rockets added a third goal at 11:40 of the final period. Two more late goals—one on an empty net and another just before the buzzer—sealed the 5-0 final.

Standout Performances & Atmosphere
Despite the scoreline, goaltender Aidan Foley was phenomenal, making 41 saves on 45 shots and keeping the game close for most of the night. The crowd of 402 was energetic, and Ronnie Rapid was in top form, keeping fans entertained throughout the evening.

Special Mentions
The night featured a beautiful national anthem performance by Selina McCambley, with Emerson, Lincoln, and Lennox Cretes serving as flag bearers. Joan Wiggins took home the 50/50 prize of $935, and Wesley CroiseTiere won the Chuck-a-Puck contest. Additionally, Lucas Chamberlain was the lucky winner of the CrossSmith Team puck.

Looking Ahead

While the Rapids didn’t get the result they hoped for, holding a powerhouse team like North Dundas to just a handful of goals for most of the game was a step forward after last week’s more lopsided loss. The team will look to build on that as they head into their next matchup.

And speaking of the next game, mark your calendars: the Rapids will face the South Grenville Rangers at home on Saturday, November 29th at 7 PM. This game is extra special as it’s our annual Teddy Bear Toss night. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to the game and toss them onto the ice after the first intermission. All collected bears will be donated to local hospitals and families just in time for the holiday season.
