Rapids Ready for Home-and-Home Battle with Defending Champs North Dundas Rockets

The Paugan Falls Rapids are set for one of their biggest tests of the season — a home-and-home series against the defending champion North Dundas Rockets, starting Saturday, November 15 at 2:00 PM in Chesterville, before returning home to the Gatineau Valley Arena on Saturday, November 22 at 7:00 PM.

This will mark the first matchup between the two teams this season, and there’s no shortage of storylines heading into the weekend. The Rockets are once again a powerhouse, sitting at 3-1 on the season with their only loss coming in a tight 3-2 game against Manotick. After winning last year’s championship, North Dundas reloaded with even more high-end talent — adding 2023-24 playoff MVP Brock Higgs, as well as Ben Blasko and several other high-impact players. Combined with established stars like Mitchell Gibson, Andrew Radjenovic, and Fabian Walsh, the Rockets remain a serious contender and one of the league’s most complete teams.

The Rapids, however, are finding their rhythm. After winning two of their last three games, the team is starting to hit its stride and will look to carry that momentum into this two-game set.

Leading the way offensively for the Rapids is Carter Peck, who has been red-hot with six goals in seven games, good for a share of 11th place in league goal scoring. Consistent production from Ryan Peck, Etienne Champagne, and Keon Troccoli-Roik has also been a key factor in the Rapids’ recent success.

Between the pipes, Aidan Foley has been strong, earning two wins in his last two starts and posting impressive .905 and .932 save percentages in those outings.

The Rapids’ home game on Saturday, November 22 at 7:00 PM is expected to be a must-see matchup. Fans are encouraged to come early — warm-up begins at 6:30 PM — and pack the Gatineau Valley Arena to give the Rapids the home-ice energy they thrive on.
