Rapids Set to Face Comets in the 2nd Annual Holiday Classic Game

The Paugan Falls Rapids are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Holiday Classic, taking place on Saturday, December 28th, at 7:00 PM at the Gatineau Valley Arena. This year’s game features a thrilling matchup against the Quebec rival Pontiac Comets, with both teams fighting for a pivotal position in the Capital Division standings.

A Rivalry Renewed: Battle of Quebec, Part 3

With both teams tied at 4-8 and just two points behind the Arnprior Rivermen, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Saturday’s game marks the third installment of the Battle of Quebec series, and fans can expect a fierce competition as both the Rapids and Comets battle for playoff positioning.

The last meeting saw the Comets narrowly edge out the Rapids in a 5-3 game during the Fish Findlay Classic in Shawville. The Rapids are determined to turn the tide on home ice and take control of this exciting rivalry.

A Holiday Tradition with Big Crowds and Big Energy

The Holiday Classic is quickly becoming a cherished tradition for the Rapids and their fans. Last season’s inaugural event set a then-record attendance of 557 fans, creating an electric atmosphere. With many people home for the holidays and the allure of a high-stakes matchup, this year’s game promises to be just as special.

The evening will kick off with a stirring performance of O’Canada by Jan McCambley and his great niece Selina McCambley, adding a personal touch to this holiday celebration. Flags will be proudly carried by Parker Hitz, Owen Hill, and Cooper Wilson, helping to set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

A Night to Remember

The game is proudly sponsored by Beavertails, Construction Ron Dubeau, and Echo Dale Construction. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to grab their seats and enjoy the festive energy in the arena.
