Rapids Set to Face Smiths Falls Rideaus in Preseason Showdown

The wait is finally over — Rapids hockey is back this Saturday!

The Paugan Falls Rapids will hit the ice at 3:00 PM at the Complexe Sportif de La Pêche in Masham for an exhibition matchup against the Smiths Falls Rideaus. Warm-up kicks off at 2:30 PM, and fans can expect an afternoon packed with action, energy, and community spirit.

Tickets are just $10 at the door, and as always, kids aged 12 and under get in FREE. Season ticket holders will enjoy free admission, and anyone who hasn’t picked up their season tickets yet can do so right at the game. Tickets can also be purchased online.

A Rivalry Renewed

The Rapids and Rideaus last clashed in Masham during last year’s exhibition, with Paugan Falls coming out on top in a thrilling 4–3 overtime win. Since then, Smiths Falls has only gotten stronger — finishing first in the Western Conference last season before falling just short in the finals. With an even more dangerous lineup this year, they’ll be a true test for the Rapids as the team kicks off its 2025–26 campaign.

New Faces on the Ice

Saturday marks the Rapids debut of Kevin Domingue and Keon Troccoli-Roik, two exciting additions expected to make a big impact this season. Fans will also see several players battling for roster spots — a great chance to catch the future of the Rapids in action.

Game Day Extras

  • Ronnie Rapid will be in the building, bringing his trademark energy to keep the crowd buzzing.

  • Janet Egan will perform the national anthem.

Be There for the First Look

This is more than just a preseason game — it’s the first chance for Rapids fans to see the 2025–26 squad in action. We’re especially inviting the Masham community to come out and experience the excitement of senior hockey right in their own backyard. Bring your friends, spread the word, and let’s fill the rink with Rapids blue!

Puck drops at 3:00 PM this Saturday — don’t miss it.
