Rapids Set to Open Season on the Road in Prescott

The wait is over—Rapids hockey is officially back. This Saturday, September 27th, the Paugan Falls Rapids hit the ice for their 2025–26 season opener against the South Grenville Rangers at 7:30 PM inside the Alaine Chartrand Arena in Prescott.

The matchup promises intensity right out of the gate. Last season, the Rapids and Rangers split their two meetings, with each game featuring heavy hits, spirited play, and even a few fights. The competitive edge between the two teams has quickly developed into one of the league’s most compelling rivalries.

For the Rapids, the opener marks a chance to show off a new-look lineup and build early momentum in the Northern Premier Hockey League. After weeks of preparation, the players are eager to hit the ice and set the tone for what they expect to be a hard-working, exciting season of Rapids hockey.

While this one is on the road, fans are encouraged to follow along on the Rapids’ social media channels for game updates and highlights. The Gatineau Valley Arena faithful won’t have to wait long to see the team in action at home—the Rapids’ home opener is set for Saturday, October 11th in Low.
