Rapids Sign High-Scoring Forward Charlie Olmsted for the 2026–27 Season

The Paugan Falls Rapids are proud to announce the signing of forward Charlie Olmsted for the 2026–27 season, adding a talented young forward coming off a breakout season in the USPHL Premier.

Olmsted, a 21-year-old right-shot forward, joins the Rapids after an outstanding season with Collège Universel Gatineau of the USPHL Premier, where he recorded 71 points in just 40 games while serving as team captain. At 5'9" and 165 pounds, Olmsted brings an exciting combination of speed, vision, playmaking ability, and a dangerous shot that made him one of the league's top offensive threats.

While this will be Olmsted's first season in Rapids colours, he is already a familiar face around the organization. He has attended Rapids games since the team's inaugural season and has spent the past several summers skating with the club during offseason sessions, steadily earning the respect of the coaching staff through his work ethic and competitiveness.

That commitment has now earned him the opportunity to make the jump to senior hockey.

"I've been watching Charlie for a couple years now and have been very impressed with his progression," said Rapids Head Coach and General Manager Randy Peck. "The way he can fly around the ice, his great vision and release, and I've just loved the way he's played and competed in our summer skates this year. He's earned this opportunity, and we're excited to have him join our group."

Olmsted is equally excited to begin the next chapter of his hockey career.

"I'm pumped to join the Rapids this season," said Olmsted. "I've been coming to games since the team started, so it'll be pretty special to finally be out there on the ice in front of a packed barn. I'm ready to go 'til you can't go no more."

The Paugan Falls Rapids are excited to welcome Charlie to the organization and look forward to seeing him make an immediate impact during the 2026–27 season.
