The Paugan Falls Rapids are thrilled to announce the acquisition of two standout defensemen, Timothy Cousineau and Jacob Roy-Lauzon, from the Bytown Royals. This strategic move aims to bolster the Rapids’ defensive lineup, ensuring a strong and competitive season ahead.
Timothy Cousineau: A Force on the Blue Line
Timothy Cousineau led the EOSHL East division defensemen in scoring last season, notching an impressive 12 goals and 10 assists in just 16 games with the Bytown Royals. Standing at 6’2” and weighing 201 pounds, the left-shot defenseman hails from Aylmer, Quebec. Cousineau’s junior hockey career saw him split time between the Gatineau Flames and Rockland Nationals. He also played two seasons with the Cegep Outaouais Griffons, where he captained the team to a championship. Known for his excellent skating and offensive prowess, Timothy is expected to make a significant impact on the Rapids’ defensive corps.
Jacob Roy-Lauzon: Versatile and Reliable
Jacob Roy-Lauzon, a right-shot defenseman from Gatineau, Quebec, brings a wealth of experience and skill to the Rapids. At 6’1” and 185 pounds, Roy-Lauzon is celebrated for his great skating, passing ability, and strong hockey IQ. During his junior career with the Gatineau Flames, he played over 90 games, demonstrating his reliability and consistency on the ice. Last season, his second with the Royals, Jacob played 17 games, contributing 1 goal and 11 assists. His versatility and defensive acumen make him a valuable addition to the Rapids.
