Rapids Welcome Jamie Mayo as Assistant Coach
The Paugan Falls Rapids are proud to announce the addition of Jamie Mayo to the coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2025–26 season.
Mayo, a long-time supporter of the Rapids, brings both a deep connection to the Gatineau Valley and an exceptional hockey résumé. Though based in Ottawa, he has strong roots in the region. Local fans know him as a pitcher for the Venosta Shamrocks in the Gatineau Valley Arena Men’s Ball League during the summer, and as a familiar face at Rapids games throughout the winter.
On the ice, Mayo’s coaching career spans more than a decade in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). His experience includes stops with the Brockville Braves, Carleton Place Canadians, Cumberland Grads, and most notably the Ottawa Jr. Senators, where he served in various roles from Assistant Coach to Associate Coach to General Manager. His time with the Jr. Senators included multiple championships and accolades:
- CCHL Champion: 2017–18, 2018–19, 2021–22, 2022–23
- Fred Page Cup Champion: 2017–18, 2018–19
- CCHL Second All-Star Team (GM): 2022–23
With that track record, Mayo is expected to make an immediate impact on the Rapids.
“Jamie has a great hockey resume and is a proven winner as a coach,” said Rapids Head Coach and GM Randy Peck. “We’re extremely happy to have him onboard with the team.”
As the Rapids prepare for an exciting 2025–26 campaign, fans can look forward to Mayo’s wealth of experience strengthening the bench and helping drive the team’s pursuit of success.
