Eric Skyba joins the Rapids

The Rapids are happy to announce the signing of Eric Skyba! Skyba is a skilled forward that is sure to excite Rapids fans all year long! Skyba joins the Rapids after completing his Jr hockey career with the Vankleek Hill Cougars where he had 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in just 24 games in the 2022-23 season. 

Before that, Eric played for the Embrun Panthers with current Rapids signees John Mahoney, Luke Peck and Carter Peck. In his three years in Embrun, Skyba had 41 goals and 45 assists for a total of 86 points in 82 games played.

Eric Skyba is no stranger to Low, Quebec either, he grew up playing for the Loups des Collines where he won multiple league championships. He practiced weekly at the Gatineau Valley Arena for over 10 years. When asked about what it means to play in the rink he grew up playing in, Skyba had this to say:

It's very special. It's going to bring back memories playing with the guys I grew up playing with in that rink. It's great to have a team back at the arena!
