Comets Looking for Their First Win

The Comets may be new to the EOSHL, but they are no strangers to senior hockey, having previously run a successful franchise in the LHSAAO before the league folded in 2020 due to the pandemic. They’ve suffered two losses to Glengarry and Manotick in their first two games and will be eager to turn things around. Watch out for key players Darcy Findlay and Quinn O’Brien, who will look to provide the offensive spark.

Saturday’s game will also see Keyshawn Francis take the ice against his former team. Francis, who appeared in 18 games for the Rapids last season, will be one to keep an eye on as he looks to make his mark against his old teammates.

While the Comets' final roster for Saturday is yet to be confirmed, expect potential appearances from star players Jacob Trempe, Joey Brennan, and Alex Landreville, who have still yet to make their season debut.

Rapids Off to a Strong Start

The Rapids are coming off two decisive victories against the Arnprior Rivermen, starting the season 2-0 and looking to build on their momentum. All eyes will be on the dominant line of Dakota Ostrowski, Pineshish Whiteduck, and Eric Skyba, who have already combined for an impressive 13 points over the first two games. Their chemistry on the ice will be crucial as the Rapids aim to keep their winning streak alive.

However, the Rapids will be missing a few key faces on Saturday due to injuries, unavailability, and suspension, including captain Ryan Peck, who is serving a one-game suspension after a high-sticking penalty in the previous matchup. Despite these absences, the team remains confident and ready to step up as they face the Comets.

A Rivalry Begins

This game marks the first-ever Battle of Quebec between the Rapids and the Comets, and fans can expect an intense atmosphere. The excitement is building, and with some Comets fans traveling to cheer on their team, the arena is sure to be electric.

Making his presence known, Ronnie Rapid will be leading the cheers and energizing the crowd. Fans will also have the opportunity to take photos with Ronnie before the game once again.
