Rapids Land All-Star Centreman Braeden Pearl in Off-Season Trade

The Paugan Falls Rapids have made a major splash this off-season, acquiring veteran centreman Braeden Pearl from the Akwesasne Wild in exchange for cash considerations.

Pearl, a 30-year-old right-handed shot, is widely respected across the league for his reliable two-way play and veteran presence. In 70 career NPHL games, he’s registered 25 goals and 41 assists, all while playing for a Glengarry Pipers team that has struggled the past two seasons. Despite the challenges, Pearl consistently produced at over a point-per-game pace and was named to the 2024-25 NPHL All-Star Game, representing Glengarry as one of their top forwards.

Known for his 200-foot game, faceoff strength, and relentless work ethic, Pearl gives the Rapids a dependable option at centre and is expected to add depth and versatility to the middle of the lineup. He becomes the second All-Star forward added to the Rapids' arsenal this year, following the spring trade for Keon Troccoli-Roik, as the team continues to build a forward group capable of making a deep playoff push.

Before entering the NPHL, Pearl played NCAA Division III hockey with Western New England University before transferring to Trine University, where he captained the team during his final collegiate season. His leadership qualities have remained a hallmark of his career, both on and off the ice.

"Getting a player like Braeden without giving up any of our active roster is a huge move for us," says GM Randy Peck. "He brings maturity, experience, and skill, and we think he’ll be a great fit with our group.”

Pearl is excited for the next chapter of his career and eager to hit the ice in Paugan Falls when the 2025–26 NPHL season begins this October.

Fans can expect a lot more to come as the Rapids continue to shape their roster for the new season—stay tuned!
